Stumbleupon spike yields 2,770% increase in traffic.

Out of the blue on Thursday I checked my web stats and noticed my traffic was much higher than normal. This continued throughout the evening and slacked off the next morning. The 8 and 9 PM hours yielded 150+ hits each (which is normally what I get in a whole week). At that point I
thought that my page was being featured somewhere on stumbleupon’s main site. After searching through several “buzz” pages and such I couldn’t find anything about my site. So Im guessing it was just a higher ranking in the stumble code that they use and more folks stumbled to me. It was fun to watch while it lasted.

Hey, we’d be lying if we told you we knew precisely why… But, in general terms, you hit a tipping point and there you went, dude :) Enjoy.

I’ve reported my site for stumbleupon advertisement and got like 100 visitors in a short period of time. I think stumbleupon test if the site can work with there kind of advertisement. Maybe this is the case for you to?
